Transformation or Migration Once the business rules have been optimized and modernized, Legacy Modernizer is ready to transform these rules into code or migrate them to a product that supports receipt of XML. These products may be Business Rules Engines (BRE), Business Process Management (BPM) tools or Modeling tools. 
Legacy Modernizer supports the transformation or migration of Adabas/Natural, Assembler, C, COBOL (OS/390, AS/400 & Unisys) and Pacbase applications. With respect to transformation Legacy Modernizer generates C#, VB.Net, Java/J2EE and COBOL code, complete from 75-95%. The code generated is native and requires no proprietary APIs or run-time libraries. The Java/J2EE code may be transported as UML Models using a third party plug-in module. Additionally the transformation may be further richened or automated to 100% by two unique features available in the Modernizer's console.
The Upload Replacement Data Model feature allows the user to upload a replacement data model for target generation based upon the data model extracted during the discovery and documentation phase. With respect to migration, the XML Legacy Modernizer currently migrates the optimized and modernized XML into CA's modeling and code generation tool, CA Gen. However, the generated XML which is in standard format may be customized for export into any product that can receive XML data including BRE products and BPM tools.
