Once the business rules of a legacy application have been extracted and reviewed, the organization must determine the usefulness of this application moving forward. If it is determined that the application has a place in the future of the organization, the extracted business rules must be optimized and modernized for performance efficiency and shareability.

Legacy Modernizer's modernization console provides a platform for business rules to be:

Deactivated
Modified
Merged
Tagged
Grouped across programs

Subsequent to optimization of business rules, the console takes a giant leap towards SOA enablement by allowing:

Service components to be defined
Business rule groups to be assigned to these components
Service Model to be generated from these components

This console is web-based and may be accessed globally via Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

It may also be noted that all changes performed in terms of business rules optimization are reflected in the underlying XML of these rules. This XML is available for export into BRE/BPM/Modeling tools or for transformation into native C#, VB.Net, Java/J2EE/EJB or COBOL code.

The optimized and modernized business rules may also be exported into MS Word in RTF format and to Graph Modeling Language editors to be saved in .pdf format or as images.
