S2T Automation Tools
S2T Documentation tools automate the discovery and extraction of program logic, business processes, business rules and data model from software applications. The program logic is represented as flowcharts; the business rules are converted into XML format and reported both in plain English and as graphical flowcharts; the data model is converted into XML format and made available as SQL/DDL scripts and in CA’s AllFusion ERwin format. This mode of documentation allows compliance with audit requirements and legislated standards like Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA in the United States and BASEL II in Europe.

S2T Transformation tools automate, up to 90%, the migration, upgrade or replacement of software applications.
It is estimated that over 1 trillion lines of legacy code run the operations of governments and enterprises worldwide. Resources to maintain such systems have become scarce and expensive, thus driving the initiative to reduce infrastructure costs by migrating such applications to newer technologies and platforms. The S2T migration tools extract business rules from the source application and convert them into Component and Object Models in XML format. These components and objects are SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) enabled and may be used by BPM (Business Process Management) workbenches for visual process management.

The S2T product upgrade tools enable users to take advantage of new features and performance of an existing application through revision upgrades. In many instances users choose not upgrade their installed applications with every new release. This results in version incompatibility. The product upgrade tools discover and extract embedded logic from the installed version of an application and inserts the same into the most current release of the same application. Example: SAP, Oracle Financials, etc.
The S2T product replacement tools enable users to move their business applications to new products within a short period of time. These tools automate the replacement process by discovering and extracting the business logic and data model from the source application, and transforming them to reside within the target application.
S2T Assessment and Change Analysis tools allow users to quickly understand the impact of proposed changes to an existing software application. These tools include a console through which a user inputs the desired changes into the system. The changes are analyzed against the existing business information of the system and a report is generated that highlights the business rules and data model that will be affected by the suggested changes.
S2T Product Integration tools extract and transform a software system’s business information into components that may be modeled (re-architected) using a S2T console. Once modeled, the resulting components are transported by these tools to multiple products including, but not limited to, Oracle’s JDeveloper, Oracle Application Server, JBoss, Eclipse, Microsoft Whitehorse, CA’s AION, AllFusion Gen, etc.
When corporations or organizations acquire a new company the systems they have been running are often different. Great expense is used to try and standardize the disparate systems and their business rules. The product integration tools can discover and extract the business rules and processes from the different systems, integrate them to form one rule set and allow the systems to interact and communicate effectively with each other.
